The Osteopaths working at John Lant & Partners
John
Ogdon Lant - Head of Practice
John Ogdon Lant started the practice after graduation from the British School of Osteopathy in 1971, following a two year period in an inner city Birmingham Clinic. The range and scope of the practice has grown over the years and now offers a wide variety of services including health promotion, a popular series of Back Care Classes and offers osteopathic services through BUPA, PPP and other health insurance companies.
John was appointed as Director of the Osteopathic Association of Great Britain (now the British Osteopathic Association) around 10 years ago and was appointed by the Privy Council to be a first member of the statutory Council of the General Osteopathic Council until 2001, (The 'GOsC'). The GOsC arose from the Osteopaths Act 1993 whose role is to "regulate, develop and promote" the profession of osteopathy, the first new statutory self regulating body in the UK for over 40 years. John is an advisory editor of 'The Osteopath', a monthly professional magazine published by the GOsC.
His other interests outside the osteopathic role include working in the arts through regional funding by the Arts Council, as a director of a national chamber orchestra, advising Anglia Polytechnic University in sundry education matters and Save the Children Fund.
Francesca Wiggins graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in London and joined the practice team in August this year. She is the British School of Osteopathy Year 2000 Winner of the Neurology Prize.
Living in Brighton until studying in London, Francesca has moved to Cambridge
and plans to cycle around the city after a busy day in the practice and hopes to
be an active member of the Cambridge Osteopaths Group (COG). She has
studied the relevance of horses and equine osteopathic treatment and hopes to
investigate the clinical similarities further.
“ I am looking forward to being part of the busy practice and joining in the life of this thriving university city. With the practice opening later on Thursday evenings, I hope I can help those who work in London or have unusual shift patterns. ”
